About

The Indian Scientists is a website where we are creating a database about the eminent scientists in India. This is an initiative from Padakshep to facilitate access to information regarding the Indian scientists who have contributed so much towards the growth of India. This will help young minds get inspired by the rich scientific tradition of India.

Students in India are barely aware of their own scientists. The textbooks are not designed to teach about the rich scientific heritage of India. An undergraduate or even a postgraduate in science in India do not know about the discoveries made by the Indian scientists. Padakshep took up this area to create an awareness among the young students to facilitate the growth of future scientists in India.

How to navigate through the site

We have tried to make the links self-explanatory and you should be able to seamlessly travel through the website. In the "subject areas" you will find the major fields of research in India. Click on the corresponding links or images of various subjects to know more. If you do not see something which should be included, please let us know. We are always working on making this website better and hopefully will include your suggestion soon.
